I think Gentleman are ignored by Ladies because the Ladies have a deep rooted fear of... "Is That All There is?" (a haunting song from the 60's or 70's, I forgot who sings it)
At least when a lady courts a guy who's initially exciting, and perhaps less gentlemanly, there's always the mistaken belief by the lady that over time she will "settle him down", kind of like saddling a wild horse.
Agree or disagree?

first off, not all women are interested in the 'bad boys'.
second off, not all men are gentlemen, even those who seem to be, may not be.
third off, this type of attraction to the 'bad boy' is not exclusive to women. men are certainly susceptable too.
and the reason why some people are attracted to the more 'risque' people is because the gentlemanly people will always be around and you can have them after you've had your wild days. just as there's always a tinge of regret at not having been rebellious/wild as after a certain age, society seems to think people should 'settle down' and live a quiet suburban life.

I wonder if you are implying that it is a mirror situation, percentage wise?

Which gets us back to my original comment/song. "Is that all there is?"
My point is women mistakenly believe "that's all there is because women tend to want to "know where they stand" as soon as possible in regards to unknown situations.
That's why I believe it is easier for women to gravitate to something more edgy.

i think there is a far smaller percentage of men and women who are interested in the bad boys/girls but people seem to think that there is more because those are the ones that create conflict and controversy.
they are attracted for a variety of reasons. rebellion, the fact that the bad boygirl is 'different' and unpredictable. in a relationship with a wild person, you are not 'safe'.
